THE GOLD RIVER VILLAGERS
Established in 1986
The Gold River Villagers is a social organization of over 200 friendly, enthusiastic women who live in Gold River and who participate in a variety of activities and events. It is geared to the woman who enjoys meeting her neighbors, getting to know more about them than the usual casual "ships passing in the night" even to the ultimate - lifelong friendships.
Members enjoy a wide range of fun and interesting options. Various interest groups: Bookchat, usually a serious book that we might overlook, Bridge on various days for ladies, men and couples; Men's Poker, Bunko and Mah Jongg, Lunch Bunch, a show and tell of special recipes, and a sewing/craft group formed recently. These are small groups and new ones are formed when warranted.
Every other month, we have a coffee hour after the Board meeting with some interesting speaker, usually speaking on some woman's issue of interest. Each month a grand luncheon is held at an interesting Club or Restaurant with a speaker or entertainment.
All members enjoy a Newsletter which details all activities for the month, news of members, birthdays and members who need a “helping hand”. A roster is distributed twice a year with members' names, addresses, telephone numbers and e-mails for easy reference.
As you can see, there is something for everyone. We encourage you to join us and choose the activities that interest you. Our yearly dues are $25. Please call our membership chair, Sharleen Millering at 635-6776 or Bobbie Wiesner at 852-9171 for more information. New members are always welcome. Join us!!
