Gold River Community Safety Committee

Gold River is not immune to crime.  The goal of the Community Safety Committee is to educate all Gold River residents as to the proper protocols for reporting crime, keep residents notified about crime and prevention, promote safety, and inform residents about Neighborhood Watch.

Neighborhood Watch works to make neighborhoods safer by having homeowners and participants watching out for one another. It encourages neighbors and participants to get to know each other so that out of place activity can be observed, recognized, and reported if necessary. People are more inclined to help out someone who they know than not. Unwanted criminals would rather go somewhere else if they know they are being watched and reported. It is important to always report suspicious activity and to not think it is someone else’s responsibility. Everyone should work on doing their part to keep Gold River safe and to be involved in their community.

Be proactive!
-  Lock your homes – doors, windows, gates, and dog doors.
-  Park vehicles inside your garage whenever possible.
-  Remove items of value from vehicles. This includes not only purses, computers, and cell phones, but also garage door openers, insurance papers, registration, and briefcases, and your vehicle’s keys! Always lock your vehicle.
-  Gold River Community Patrol reminds homeowners to close their garage doors, both day and night – when left open, thieves and critters have easy access to inside your garage.
-  For more information regarding Neighborhood Watch, visit "How to start and maintain a healthy neighborhood watch program."

The Community Safety Committee meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 6:15 p.m. at the Gold River Community Center.

The next meeting will take place  February 21, 2012.

Gold River Community Patrol

Gold River Community Patrol (GRCP) patrols every village in Gold River. GRCP has two trucks assigned to the area. There are always two patrol officers on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They vary their routes and time tables to prevent falling into a predictable routine. GRCP provides the office daily activity and incident reports electronically. They work closely with the Gold River Community Safety Committee and communicate with the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department when appropriate.
