The goal is to educate all Gold River residents as to the proper protocols for reporting crime, keep residents informed in the areas of crime and prevention, promote the idea that the community itself provides the best watchful eye, and promote safety on our roadways for pedestrians and drivers alike.
Gold River is not immune to crime. It is the committee’s desire to make every person who wishes to commit a crime in Gold River know they are being watched, not like it, and leave. If your village does not have an active, working Neighborhood Watch program, consider starting one. The Sheriff’s department calls us “force multipliers” as we are the additional eyes, ears and voices they need when they can’t be here. They believe that Neighborhood Watch programs have helped communities all over the US cut down on crime in their neighborhoods.
The Community Safety Committee meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 6:15 p.m. at the Gold River Community Center.
The next meeting will be held Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 6:15 p.m.
Be proactive!
Lock your homes – doors, windows & especially gates.
If you are packing your car for a trip, conceal your departure – pack your car with your garage door closed.
Park your vehicles in your garage whenever possible.
Remove articles of value from vehicles. No longer are purses, cell phones, IPODs and computers the only target. Garage clickers, insurance papers, registrations and tennis racquets have been stolen out of cars parked in Gold River.

Emergency/Non-Emergency Contacts
Report any suspicious behavior or activity to Sheriff's Non-Emergency at 874-5115. For crimes in progress, call 9-1-1 (if on a land line) or Sheriff's Emergency 874-5111 (if on a cell phone).
An additional call to Community Patrol ensures the information is included in their daily logs and reported to GRCA and the Community Safety Committee. Choosing to only call the Community Patrol could cause delays in obtaining law enforcement services.
